Dr. Chiara Modica received her Master’s degree cum laude in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in 2012 at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and in 2019, she gained a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Turin.

After graduation, she moved to the University of Milan, where she joined the Laboratory of Stem Cell Biology and Pharmacology of Neurodegenerative Diseases. She developed approaches that make use of pluripotent stem cells (embryonic and reprogrammed) and human neural stem cells to produce the specific neurons that die during the   Huntington’s disease . As a PhD candidate, she attended the laboratory of Prof. Paolo Comoglio at the University of Turin where she focused her experience in the optimization of novel cancer target therapy strategies against the MET tyrosine kinase receptor and its ligand HGF. In 2021, Dr. Modica joined the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Oncology, headed by Prof. Giorgio Stassi, at the Palermo University, where she is currently working as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
